Emmanuel Chokani, CFA

Chief Executive Officer

Emmanuel is a CFA Charter holder and a Chartered Accountant (FCCA, ACA). His role is instrumental for the overall strategic management of client assets under management and execution of financial advisory services. Prior to 2019, Emmanuel worked as the Chief Executive Officer of NICO Asset Managers Limited Malawi. He brings vast experience having previously managed investment portfolios of over US$500 million in assets. Emmanuel is responsible for the overall administration and management Bridgepath Capital Limited’s assets under management. Some of the firm's largest funds include: the Reserve Bank of Malawi Pension Fund with a total portfolio value of K5 billion. Bridgepath Capital Limited is also the fund manager of the Mwafuli Unrestricted Pension Fund with a total fund value of K1.5 billion. The company’s entire assets under management translate to a total portfolio value of over K12 billion since its inception on 1 October 2019. Prior to 2019 Emmanuel worked as the Chief Executive Officer of NICO Asset Managers Limited Malawi. He was responsible for an investment portfolio of over US$500 million of assets under management (these included: pension funds such as Standard bank, Puma, Press Corporation Limited, NICO Life, Illovo, and the Associated Pension Trust (APT), life insurance funds, general insurance funds, institutional/retail funds, property companies and a collective investment scheme).

Danwell Manda

Finance Manager

Danwell is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the financial activities and financial reporting of Bridgepath Capital limited including nominees and other segregated funds. Using his experience in systems’ design and implementation, Danwell coordinates the designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of financial and related systems of the company to ensure the undisturbed financial and related operations. He also takes the lead role in budget preparation for the organisation. Danwell has previously served as the Finance Officer at NICO Pension Services Company Limited through September 2019 to June 2021. Prior to this, he started his career as an Accounting Associate at NICO Asset Managers Limited through April 2015 to August 2019 where he worked with pension funds such as Standard Bank, Puma, Press Corporation Limited, Illovo, and The Associated Pension Trust (APT).

Chimwemwe Matemba is responsible for overseeing and coordinating investment advisory activities at Bridgepath Capital Limited. She deals on the money market to secure optimal rates, prepares valuations and performance reports for clients, and monitors the stock market to make trading recommendations to the investment team. She also reviews and approves investment transactions, ensures compliance through reconciliations and regulatory returns, and plays a key role in developing business strategies and maintaining client relationships. Chimwemwe is instrumental in reviewing proposals, coordinating investment advisory responses, and ensuring clients receive optimal service. Chimwemwe has previously served as Financial Manager – Treasury at Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) between 2014 and 2019, where she was responsible for cashflow management, debt management, financial risk mitigation, and negotiations with financial institutions. Prior to this, she served as Billing Support Services Manager at TNM from 2011 to 2014, and as Bank Operations Officer and Internal Auditor at Ecobank between 2008 and 2011, where she gained valuable experience in banking operations, controls, and audit.

Introducing Peter Chikunkhuzeni, our Investment Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, majoring in Economics, and is a CFA Charterholder. With experience across investment management, financial analysis, portfolio strategy, valuation and market research, he brings strong analytical and financial expertise to our Investment Management department. Peter supports the management of client portfolios, investment analysis, transaction execution and performance reporting, while leveraging his understanding of Malawi’s financial markets and regulatory environment to provide practical insights and recommendations that support our clients’ investment objectives.

Precious’s role is instrumental to the financial operation and administration of the firm. His role involves processing all payments and submitting monthly tax returns and reconciliations for both the operations of the company and all operations related to the financial management of the portfolios managed by Bridgepath Capital. During his work, Precious ensures that the company is complying to all regulatory procedures and that all transactions are captured in the company’s system.

Projects and Compliance Officer

As Projects and Compliance Officer, Tamanda supports the effective delivery of projects and compliance initiatives across Bridgepath Capital. Her role involves coordinating projects, monitoring adherence to regulatory and internal requirements, strengthening processes and controls, and supporting the implementation of systems and operational improvements. She works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, risks are appropriately managed, and the company maintains high standards of governance, compliance and operational effectiveness. She also contributes to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements and the development of effective procedures that promote efficiency, transparency and accountability across the business

Geoffrey works closely with both individual and institutional clients to understand their financial objectives and provide tailored investment solutions. He is also actively involved in business development, market research, investment proposal development, and identifying opportunities that support the growth of clients’ investments and Bridgepath Capital’s Assets Under Management. With a strong focus on client service and relationship management, he is committed to delivering responsive, research-informed solutions that create long-term value for clients.

Investment Operations Associate

Steven plays a key role in investment operations and transaction execution at Bridgepath Capital, covering fixed income and equity dealing, investment management, systems administration, and client service. He executes money-market and equity transactions, negotiates orders with stockbrokers to optimize transaction costs, coordinates settlement and broker payments, and prepares investment schedules, and performance reports. He also conducts macroeconomic and industry research to support investment decisions. Steven manages our investment system, recording transactions, prices, dividends, and rental income, while generating control reports and client statements. He performs reconciliations, monitors investments against approved placement limits, and supports compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. He also contributes to business development through client meetings, AGMs, proposal and pitchbook preparation, and engagement with financial institutions, custodians, transfer secretaries, and other market participants.
